Following the retirement of Mr Bill Jackson from our board of Trustees, we’d like to take a moment to thank him for his ten years of dedication to Springboard, as both a Trustee and a Finance Manager.
Bill was employed as Finance Manager for the charity in January 2004 and retired in December 2013. During his time here he recalls some difficult situations and also enjoyed some huge successes, “In the intervening years Springboard has thrived and expanded thanks to the dedication and hard work of the staff, and especially the vision and control of Denise Wilson, our Trust Secretary. At times it was hard work, however it made working for Springboard exciting and interesting.”
It was shortly after he retired that the Trustees invited Bill to join the board. “I was only delighted to do this, to help Springboard continue into the future.”
After Denise retired as Trust Secretary the Trustees appointed our current Chief Executive, David Barker.
“David has begun to reorganise Springboard with his vision and I have no doubt that Springboard will enjoy a bright future under David, ably supported by the trustees.”
“After spending so many years with Springboard I found it very difficult to leave, but after 4 years of retirement, I wanted to spend more time with my wife and also on personal projects.”
Everyone here at Springboard would like to thank Bill for his fantastic dedication and service during his time at Springboard, and we’d like to wish him a fond farewell and most importantly a Happy Retirement!
