Learners from Springboard Futures have spread their wings to work with a local primary school, the friends of Thompson Park and the SARA project. Pupils from Southwick Primary school were asked by their Friends what they would like to see in the park and they said: “More wildlife! “
As a result, the Learners were asked to make bird boxes to put up around the park. Learner Jonathan said: “We like being in the park so when we heard we could help to make things better for the wildlife we were very excited.”
Futures Design Technology lead Gary Stubbs said: “The learners are always keen to learn new skills, so when they were asked to make the boxes they were only too happy to help out. The pride they took in being able to help out was incredible.”
