Planting Trees at Fulwell Quarry

26 Jan 2022

Today, our Springboard Futures learners have been out in the local community planting Oak Trees at Fulwell Quarry. Fulwell Quarry, known locally as Witherwack Quarry, is a Local Nature Reserve. The nature reserve is of national importance due its rare Magnesian Limestone geology.

Learners were joined by Sunderland Council workers, as well as Springboard Futures staff, ensuring it was all hands on deck for a busy day! A total of 783 trees have been planted, which will help the local environment and Fulwell Quarry. Well Done to all involved!
