Level 2 Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties

I left school not knowing what I really wanted to do so I took a chance and joined Springboard. On Study Programme I met Gemma. She helped and supported me through my Level 1 Health and Social Care and soon enough I was on placement at Sycamore Care Centre. The care home offered me an apprenticeship and I jumped at the chance because I really loved caring for elderly people. I realised quickly that this is what I wanted to do. Ashley, my mentor helps me in the care home and Gemma supports me through a Diploma. I love that I have 1 lesson every fortnight in Springboard where all apprentices get together and share experiences. It helps me so much with learning and the support is fab.

I’d definitely recommend Springboard because it gives you the chance to gain qualifications and learn new things. There’s forklift training and many other things that might suit you. For maths and English, I wasn’t too good to start off with but once I got comfortable with what I was doing I enjoyed learning and was really focused on my work which led me to passing my English. Overall Springboard is a fantastic place to learn new skills!
