A huge thank you to Horden Youth & Community Centre
Springboard learner Lee has been struggling to keep up with his work as he has little no access to internet at home, and no means other than his phone to work off, and only then when he has data, which isn’t very often!
His tutor, Andrea, went searching for a resolution to this and researched any local organisations who were willing to donate or borrow internet/IT equipment to learners needing/wanting to complete work during lock down.
Andrea came across
Horden Youth & Community Centre
, who were offering IT equipment to vulnerable groups of people over 18, to help prevent further isolation and enable things like digital learning, online ordering and access to advice and guidance. Andrea got in touch with Horden Youth and Community Centre manager, Steve, who took Lee’s details and after a short interview and selection process, awarded Lee with his very own tablet!
Lee is now able to keep up with his online learning, ensuring he is up to date with Springboard work and able to progress through his qualification!
