The Trustees of Springboard Sunderland Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Reay as our new Chief Executive to drive forward the organisations development plans across the North East.
With over 20 years in education, training and development, specialising in alternative education and SEND, Steve has 18 years of experience within the organisation, most recently as Head of Development.
Springboard was established in 1975 to tackle high youth unemployment in Sunderland, employing a handful of staff and engaging those hardest to help. To date, Springboard has helped over 35,000 people improve their lives and gain employment. Now a regional organisation with 85 employees and a number of training centres in Sunderland, South Tyneside, Peterlee and Hartlepool, Springboard continues to equip individuals with the skills they need for work at life.
Steve said: “I am delighted to take up the position of Chief Executive, after being with Springboard for so many years I am hugely passionate about our mission statement and values and I look forward to shaping the future of the organisation, giving it a renewed focus and direction. Our staff team share my passion and desire to raise and support the aspirations of residents across the North East, whatever their ability or circumstances”
