The Delivery Officer role is the mechanism which the charity primarily uses in order to undertake its training work. Delivery Officers carry out a wide range of functions including developing, tutoring and assessing relevant high quality learning programmes to encourage and secure learner achievement, attainment and progression.

Digital Champion Volunteers

Springboard are currently recruiting for Digital Champion volunteers to work in the Coalfields.

What is a Digital Champion?
A Digital Champion doesn’t have to be an IT genius; they just need to have a bit of spare time, an enjoyment of being online themselves, some confidence with basic computer use, and, most of all, a willingness to help others. You will receive support and training from our Digital Inclusion Officer to bring out the best in you.

What we’re doing in the Coalfields community
We are currently supporting 9 ICT Community projects to bring Digital Inclusion skills to the people of Hetton, Houghton, Easington Lane, Penshaw, Herrington and Shiney Row.

Hiring an Apprentice is a cost effective way to grow and develop your own staff. All businesses who recruit an Apprentice aged 16-18 will receive a cash incentive of £3000 (new Government incentive due to Covid-19 grant available August 2020 – January 2021)

Employers who hire a new apprentice between 1 August 2020 and 31 January 2021 will receive a payment of:

·         £2,000 for apprentices aged 16 to 24

·         £1,500 for apprentices aged 25 and over

Springboard can help with recruiting an Apprentice, and we take the stress and work out of the hiring process. We currently work with many businesses across the region to help them recruit and develop young people, or to help them upskill existing staff.

First, Springboard will come to your business to learn more about your ways, and find out how an Apprentice can help you. Your vacancy will then be advertised using GOV.UK, the most visited platform when searching for apprenticeships, our website and promoted via social media posts on our channels boasting a unique audience.

Applicants are pre-screened, assessed and interviewed and any suitable candidate details are sent to the potential employer. Springboard would usually arrange the interviews, work trials, second interviews and any other employment process, and we will then provide feedback to the candidates. Springboard are able to facilitate anything you wish to make the hiring process smooth and effective.

Due to the new Apprenticeship Levy, costs for hiring an Apprentice or upskilling your staff depend on the salary bill and size of the workforce of your organisation, you will find more information about finance on our Apprenticeship Costs & Finance page.
