Take The Leap is an introductory part of the study programme designed for learners starting at L1 or below, vocationally unsure or need to develop soft skills and overall confidence to support successful and meaningful progression. Take The Leap includes a community project, work experience and equality and diversity. All learners will have the opportunity to pick vocational tasters as part of their programme. 

Learners on the Take The Leap qualification will develop a more hands on approach to their learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding which will prepare learners for working life beyond education. Take The Leap is intended to give learners a solid base from which to further develop their skills and learning. 

CV Writing

Our Take The Leap qualification also provides learners with a qualification in CV writing. This element of the qualification is designed for learners who wish to better their employment opportunities by providing them with the knowledge required to produce their own CV.

Mental Health Awareness:

Our Take The Leap qualification also provides learners with a qualification in Mental Health Awareness. This qualification aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health difficulties, dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues and it aims to develop learners’ knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues.

Entry Level – No previous qualifications are required for this programme, however, a pre-course interview will be required before a place is offered.

Careers you could move into:

Learners on our Take The Leap qualification will select a vocational routeway to follow after the initial introductory programme, or learners can apply for any suitable Apprenticeship vacancies.

If you’re studying at Springboard you may be eligible for an attendance allowance and a bursary.

All learners on a Study Programme are entitled to claim a weekly attendance allowance, currently £4 per day. *if you are in receipt of JSA or Universal Credit, please check with your advisor as you might not be entitled to the attendance allowance but entitled to the bursary.

Our Study Programmes will support your child to develop whilst they are learning with Springboard.

Springboard help to develop skills/qualification needed for the progression on to Apprenticeships/Employment. Each programme is specifically designed to meet the individual needs of your child.

Study Programmes offer one-to-one support whilst your child gains employability skills and vocational experience in their chosen study area. Whilst studying on Study Programme, Springboard can also offer work experience placements, where your child will gain hands-on, practical skills to get them work ready.

Springboard can also offer maths and English support including GCSE re-sits where appropriate.

• Please note, whilst your child is placed on Study Programme you may be eligible to claim child benefits or child tax credits.

Springboard work closely with various schools around the North East of England. Springboard offers support, information, advice and guidance to those students exploring their options after Year 11. Springboard work to support all year groups from Year 7 through to Year 11. 

Springboard can offer various support in the formats below;

Class/Year Assemblies

Springboard can offer assemblies and presentations on Springboard’s offer, about apprenticeships, vocational areas, or what it is like attending Springboard. 

Open Events/Career Fairs 

Springboard are keen to engage with young people, breaking down barriers, and offering advice and guidance on a range of post 16 routeways. We are happy to give tailored advice at open days, and engage with a wide range of year groups. 

Site Visits

Students can visit our locations for tours of our in house facilities and vocational areas, and speak with relevant staff about their progression from school. We are also able to offer bespoke workshops. 

One-to-One

Our friendly enrolment team are happy to talk to students on an individual basis. We are able to accomodate private appointments, appointments with parents/carers or appointments with support workers. 

Workshops

Springboard can offer bespoke workshops to groups of learners, either at Springboard or at your school. Springboard offer workshops on mock interviews, CV workshops, understanding the labour market and many more. 

Alternative Education

Springboard also have the capacity to accommodate Alternative Education for those aged between 14-16 and may be disengaged from mainstream provision. Please contact us to accommodate Alternative Education as all cases are assessed on an individual basis.
